'06 WRX a redesign?
#16
When I bought my 04', the guy at the dealer should me and my friends pics of the 06'...They are so ugly! I hope that the picture just made it look bad. I can't remember the name of the car company, but subaru and this other car company designed the new wrx. Like I said above, hopefully the pics are just bad.

I actually have a very credible source telling me that the Wrx will not be redesinged untill "06" but will not be made untill after 7/06 which in America makes it an "07" the main redesing will be for the Wrx a better upped hp engine with a better 5 speed. Rumor has it that the 280 hp engine of the Japanese Sti will be put into the wrx with it still able to pass emissions including California. (dont you love technology) The Sti will use the same engine and set up but upped boost for a possible 20-30 hp gain. Im guessing this will be to counter the new supposed Evo comming to the states packing a 320 hp 2.0 liter emissions legal engine. The main focus of the STI redesign will be the suspension but mostly the front end. I guess that the STI front end was originally designed to handle the 2.0 Liter instead of the 2.5 liter. The front end will be updated to better handle the new engine. One more possible update to the STI is a stock front strut tower bar.
And also to "cKey"[B] we owe a lot to SAAB because when Subaru of America was failing miserably SAAB was able to help Subaru build the engine we know today as the H-6. The H-6 was originally a SAAB pattened design and yes it was even before Porsche the difference was that Porsche used it in their cars before SAAB did so Porsche was therefore allowed to use the flat 6 design with out paying anything to SAAB. I still think to this day SAAB has never used the H-6 in any of thier vehicles. Anyways if it wernt for SAAB helping Subaru they might of never been able to build the SVX. The SVX while known as a failure to most automotive people was actually the thing that helped the revival of Subaru because so many Americans were looking at Subaru now so it was in a way just a publicity stunt that cost a lot of money but payed off.
To "SYMON" the 9-2X is the fastest car in the line up as of now but did you know that in in the mid 90's the sweedish spec 9000 Aero was even faster then our WRX is now amazing huh.
And by the way I own an older 900 Turbo a new 9-3 and a WRX I love all 3 of my cars but I like specific things in all of them. I actually dont like the new 9-2x your paying an extra 5 grand for the different color seats, different sheet metal and longer warranty in my opinion the 9-2x will be a failure to SAAB but will help them in the long run since they are trying to show that they can still keep up in the performance segment. To them it's not like they are copying another car company but its more like they arnt affraid to ask for help. Its kind of like an addict you cant fix your problem untill you admit you have a problem and ask someone for help.

That, and it would be cheaper for them to only manufacture 2 basic engine types instead of 3.

GC8 had 7 revisions
GC8A - GC8G (ver6)
GD series is revision E right now. Its actually 5th year of GD series
so I think all new Impreza will come out in few years.
Legacy and Forester became much lighter after they became BL/BP Legacy and SG Forester.
so the all new Impreza (GEB?) is most likely to become lighter adopting the same technology as new Legacy and Forester.
THe engine might depend on the WRC regulation, which might ban turbo soon.
