My guess is DOHC. The STi's EJ25 is DOHC, and if Subaru is trying to save money with making the engines similar, it would remain the same.

HP Rating

I can't back this up, but I did read somewhere (I rmember it seeming like a reliable source at the time) that the HP rating for the WRX should be 238. Seems like no one really knows for sure yet. I'm more curious at how much HP will result with the revised Cobb, Vishnu, etc packages on the 2.5 engine. I can only imagine an even bigger HP difference from stock than current packages offer.

The new 2.5 turbo engine should prove to be a good platform for mods. I think we'll see some serious HP squeezed out of the new engine.

I'm tempted to trade my 04 TS in this summer for an 06 wrx.

The ONLY thing it would take for me to get a new WRX would be a six speed in the wagon. I HATE teh 5 spd.

so it's pretty much confirmed that we'll get the 2.5L for the 06 WRX. what about the look and MSRP? If it looks anything close what have been passing around, I think I would rather get the 05 with a great deal. And if the there is a big jump in MSRP (~$2000), I think I would stick with 05 and get a Premium package instead.
