03 WRX- won't start after accident
I bought a 03 WRX, hit on both ends. Radiator and bags ok.
The starter spins the engine. Fuel at engine.
The car has the upgrade security system. I didn't get the transmitter so I ordered a new one, the car doesn't seem to accept that either.
Are the problems related?
Any suggestions?

wait, so when you turn the key, it sort of cranks?? or no?? if it does crank a lil bit but the engine doesn't start, try checking some belts, although it would be hard to snap a belt in an accident and miss that when car car shopping. i'm not sure how the subaru upgraded security works so can't give any opinions on that one.

Here's a link to ScoobyMods.com on how to program the transmitter.
I'm not sure that's the reason you can't start the car, but it couldn't hurt to try it.

It sounds like immobilizer issue, if your security system has one.
basically if the starter is working and fuel is there, the only reason the engine isn't starting is becaue there is no spark.
Immobilizer or ignition system is the cause.
Yeah some car has a fuel cut sytem which cuts the fuel after an accident but as far as I know, Subaru doesn't have that. Ford does.

I am bringing this thread back to life!
Does anyone have specific information about fuel cutoff after an accident? Specifically in the WRX? How does one start the fuel flowing again? Do parts need to be replaced, or is there an electronic or manual way to start the fuel flow?

As far as i know, there upgraded security system for Subaru's don't have any immobilizing capabilities. When I bought mine and installed it, there were only the shock sensor and the extra horn...no parts that acted as a cut off or immobilizer. Most likely, it has nothing to do with the security if it is the factory Subaru security system. Sorry bout the accident though and good luck man.

Oh, I was bringing this thread back to life for my own personal question about the fuel cutoff. I don't know whatever happened to the original poster. Hopefully, he got things fixed up all right.
I'm buying a wrecked WRX that was hit in the driver's side doors, slightly swaying the rear end, but doing no damage forward of the A pillar.
My question still stands - how do you restart fuel flow after the fuel cutoff has been triggered by an accident?
