Don't look good for you, from other posts I have read on this and other forums you should not be able to order an '03. Dealers still have lots of them and some dealerships still have '02s on their lots. 04's should be hitting the dealerships soon. The only way to really find out would be call several dealerships and ask them. good luck in your quest

What matters is when they are stopping production of 03s to produce 04s. You will not be able to custom oder once production stops. You will, however, be able to order from another dealer. Most dealers aren't too keen to let you know this, since they lose some of their profit and have to do more paperwork.

03 models came out end of spring/early summer last year. So when the 04's are introduced in the next couple months, the 03 model year is over... In fact, they probably stoped produciton now on the 03's and are only building 04's. Thats how it works for any car. Do you not understand this?

They have already stopped production on '03s, since december. anything after that is just being picked from the litter. you should be able to get a good bargain on an '03 at a dealership because they need to make room. You might even find one with low mileage if you call around enough.

Subaru has indeed already shipped it's last batch of 2003 Imprezas. Any order you place from Japan will be a 2004.
Your only chance of getting everything you want is to have your dealer do a dealer search and then add any options the car is missing. Otherwise, get an '04! They're better looking anyway!

IF prices even go up, they're only expected to be about $150 more than 2003. That's the word from my dealer. If you look at Subaru's UK site, prices have gone DOWN for 2004.

a) Pick an 03 out of existing inventory
b) Order an 04
c) Don't buy one at all.
That's really it.

As far as pricing goes for the MY04, I have heard/read multiple places that the '04 will actually cost a little less then the '03, however no one know's if this is the Dealer Invoice or MSRP price.
The argument for this "price drop" is due to the release of the STi this summer, as well as turbo-forester's and legacy's (which haven't gotten as much press apparently) and Subaru want's to keep sales "brisk" on the "base" WRX.
Is this true? Can't say for sure, but we should have the answer in a few short weeks!
