These things use an accelerometer and then integrate to find times. Just like physics class...

I was looking at them as well, and have a thread started on here (accelerometers) trying to dig up info like this. Thanks for your info! I imagine they are not 100% accurate with respect to what you might get with going to the track. I am more interested in seeing the differences when mods are added to a car, so if it is CONSISTENT and relatively accurate, I would be mostly concerned with that.

If your just buying it to see how your new mods affect performance you need it to have good consitancy.
