IMHO, anyone in the 17-20 range should learn to drive effectively before they strap themselves behind $35,000 and 300hp/300lb*ft.
What happened to the days of driving a used $3-6k beater car in high school???
Flame suit: on.

I have to agree with Max Rebo. I'm 18 and drive a pretty quick car right now. I was lucky enough to be trained by good drivers. The kids my age have no idea how to drive and I'm still not as good as I want to be. I'm going to take driving school before I strap myself into my Sti (which I won't be getting for a couple of years). Hopefully I'll be experienced enough. I don't think anyone my age should drive an Sti, they don't deserve to. Especially if it's their first car.

Now what do you people consider high? I pay 900 every 6 months for my 95 celica GT :-P and I have one accident that will go off this year (yay!!) I also live in Cali. Is that high? I'm trying to get a feel for this STi issue.

Don't worry about insurance, guys. Insurance companies just love cheap turbocharged powerful fast cars. Honest. They won't charge exorbitant premiums. Trust me.
As for asking "how much do you think it will cost..." there are so many countless factors that go into determining an individual's premium that it's anyone's guess for cars that are already on the market, much less aren't even here yet. An exercise in futility, I say.

I pay about $550/6 mo. for my wagon. That's about the same as I paid for my '00 si. Not bad in my opinion. I'm a 26yo guy. Good record. Luckily when a drunk piece of trash woman broadsided me with a Jeep Grand Cherokee it went on her insurance .
