I am 16 years old, and as a spoiled, yet also hardworking (working 5 hours a day for 6 days a week), I live in New Jersey and plan to buy an STi; however, the insurance seems very frightening.. any comments?

anyways, when you get a little older youll learn all about a little word called 'financing'. its the only way anybody whos not rich can afford to buy anything. depending on the deal you make with whoever youre buying from, you can put some money down or not. some things dont require money down. the STi will. maybe not too much, though. however, the more you put down, the less your monthly payments will be and the less interest youll have to pay. thats the other important word you need to know: 'interest rate'. im no economics teacher so go look it up, but suffice it to say that the interest rate you get is way more important than the price you agree on. of course, the interest rate is usually not a factor thats as negotiable as the price, but try anyway.
hell ask your parents.

You know, I just did some price quotes with my insurance (USAA) for a 2003 WRX with full everything on the coverage and I got about 515 per 6 month period. I'm 20 years old with 1 accident back in 2000 and no tickets. No good student discount or nothing. Thank god one of relatives is in the military (only way to get USAA). That's some damn cheap insurance, so the STi will prolly be like 900 every 6 months or so. w00t!

hey needwrxsti!I know in pa its not to bad.I had a jeep cherokee before my scooby and my rate is the same.I have erie ins. if that makes a difference.I am also 27 with a pretty clean driving record. The sti may fall under a high performance ins but the airbags and the fact that the inst. for highway safety looks very highly upon subaru will probably help.I would call around in the area and see what you find.Good luck!!

A 2003 Cobra Mustang (390HP,390TQ, 3700lb) would cost me about $1000 every six months.
I am male, 23, near perfect driving record.
A lightning(380HP,450TQ, ~4600lb) would cost $800.
My GT Mustang(260HP, 302TQ, 3500lb) costs $720 every six months.
I would imagine the STI will be about the price of a Lightning for me. Limited production, high power vehicle. Lightning also costs $33,549.
