Depending on you location summer heat can burn up soft compond tires quick and also if you do alot of freeway driving. So you could get less than the range set by the manufacture..

I have been debating rotating mine sooner than the normal recomendation since we will be lucky to get 10k miles out of the stock Potenzas. Anyone else do it after a few thousand miles?

a guy at the dealership told me you can only rotate side to side and not front to back due to the size of the front calipers?

The guy at your dealership is wrong..
The wheels are the same size..
If anything I would say dont rotate them side to side because there are directional tires..

The tires are directional in 1 direction. They are all the exact same tire just put on both sides of the car. There is only an indicator that says inside and outside. There is no arrow for direction.
