The DL on the DP CEL for STI
Alright people here's the DL. I don't know about any other DP but the TurboXS but I've talked to some other owners of STI's that have the TurboXS downpipe and they have the exact same problem. Even if you leave one cat on, the CEL will still pop up. The CEL with the Cruise control failure. Unplugging the battery for 7 minutes will reset the ECU and make the CEL go away for a limited time and that time depends on your STI. I went to the dealer and got a diagnostic and the only P-Code that came up was catalytic converter inefficiency. So I had them do a hard code erase and it ended up the same as if I reset the ECU. This code also makes the engine run super rich and makes the gas milage go to hell. ECU is trying to compensate for the catalytic converter inefficiency. "Word on the street" is that on the race pipe, cat pipe, or whatever pipe that has the bung for the o2 sensor can be modified to make the CEL go away. What they're doing now is extending the bung out about an inch to an inch and a half and it seems to make the o2 sensor chill. So what I'm saying is...if you take that pipe and weld a threaded bung about an inch long on top of the original bung then that will fix your dilema. Or you can wait a couple months and TurboXS and other companies will be selling the new product. Any Questions?

I have the turboxs stealth back with highflow cat. not one single CEL in the 3 weeks I had it on my car.

I modded my Invidia DP like this and still got a CEL after 1k miles or so...
I have a Innova 3100 OBD-II scan tool so I can scan and erase codes myself till a solid fix becomes available. I heard Perrin has one available and ScoobySport makes one that works.

Here is an e-mail I received from Perrin today:
Jon,
We do have a fix for you. It will be released to dealers within the
next two weeks. Expect MSRP to approximate $79.99. It is an an active
computer solution tuned in harmony with the factory ECU and O2 sensor.
Thanks!

Jon,
More info will be on our website later this week. You can order it now
from your dealer. The part number is PSP-EXT-500. Hope that helps!
Thanks.

J-REX,
Are you talking about the P0136 code when a car runs catless? Where the CEL pops up after 10-20 minutes of cruise control? They're going to have a fix for that soon? If it's to run in harmony w/ the factory ECU & O2 sensor...then what if someone's running the TBXS Utec?

Logan,
I don't know brother. I think it's going to be something like a mil eliminator where you just cut and solder the o2 sensor but I don't know. When it comes out I can garuantee that I'll be one of the first people to get one and I'll let everyone know.

I know nothing about godspeeds d/p. But no worries. I've been driving about three weeks (2000 miles) with my CEL on and no problems. There will be a CEL fix coming out soon enough from PERRIN Performance.

Why wait? Try the cheap $5 fix and see if it works.
