What's the difference between an equalizer and an amplifier?
So I was trying to sell what I assumed to be an amplifier. Then one of the interestees did some research on the product that I'm trying to get rid of. He told me that its an equalizer. Being a total audio noob, I was wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between an amplifier and an equalizer.

I'm certainly no stereo expert, but here it is simply:
Amplifiers give power to the speakers. They take the signal from a source and amplify it to be audibly produced by the speakers. That's it.
Equilizers manipulate the signal from the HU to change the audible sounds produced by the speakers. You can manipulate sounds so what comes out of the speakers is different than the signal the HU puts out.
So - you have an EQ between your HU and amp so you can tweak the signal that goes to the amp which the amp then sends to the speakers.

Not typically. Usually an amp will have a crossover which cuts off frequencies above/below a threshold, but not an EQ.
That is an amplifier. I just looked it up and you're missing one key spec for amps - the power output. Your amp is:
140 x 2 @4 Ohms
200 x 2 @2 Ohms
480 x 1 @4 Ohms
You can run your speakers at different ohm loads depending on the speaker and how you hook it up. Your amp can run three different ways. The first one is 140 watts to each of 2 speakers at a 4 ohm load, etc down the line.
