Uhhh... max speaker depth OBS?
What is the max speaker depth for the front doors of the OBS? Mine's a 2004. The stock speakers seem to be only 1 7/8" deep. I have a pair of 6 1/2" MBQuart RSC 216 component's I'd love to squeeze in there without modifying the door panel. They are 2 3/4 deep overall. Can it be done with a spacer (please say yes).
Thanks!

Yeah you need a spacer to make them fit, I made mine out of plastic but you may not have the tools available to do that.. Sure you can buy some somewhere though. Maybe even some peices of wood or something but i think the important thing is that you get a seal all around the speaker. I'm no speaker expert but I believe that your door acts as a kind of Box for your speaker so you need to make sure its sealed in there.
EDIT: my spacer was 3/4 think too, i also had to trim one of the screws that was on the window itself(it would have hit the magnet when the window was down). I have maybe like 1/8 or less gap between the speaker and window when its down and havn't had any problems with it.

Well, I'm going for it. I picked up a piece of 3/4 mdf which I will construct the spacers from. I will shave the inside of the door panel and shim the window slider if I have to. I got a great deal on these speakers and the WILL go in! Will post results upon completion.
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!
