That's all going to depend on what sub you use. Some subs work better with sealed boxes, some sound better with ported boxes. First find a good speaker, then decide how what kind of box. I recomend Boston Acoustic. I have one 12 and it hits hard, but really clear. I usually find myself turning it down because it hits too hard. A Boston 10 would be a great speaker. There is some rattling from the trunk that dynamat will fix. Good luck

I love my diamond sub. my .02 It's in a sealed enclosure and provides enough sound to drown out my front speakers easily if I adjust the sub up all the way

MTX 10 inch Nice!

It is boxed with no hole. Good balance of bass, but it also depends what system you are running to it. It was a good install because you can remove it when you need that extra trunk space.
I have Pioneer Super tunerIII Premier w/Premier Amp. it is awesome I am removing it and installing it in my new Sti. Trying to sell my 02 WRX at this time.
Here are some pics hope they work.

I've got 3 Arc Audio 10D4's in a sealed enclosure. 1000W from an Alpine amp and it hits hard...very clean, not boomy.

A good buddy of mine did the design and fabrication. He's got lots of details posted...

I have w Kicker CompVR's in the Kicker box and it sounds really nice in the trunk. The only problem I am having is trunk space since the box wont clear the rear strut bar. I am going to get a special box built, but for the price you cant go wrong with the CompVR's.

+1 for boston acoustic, but they are pretty pricey. I guess you get what you pay for.

question for ya. . . is your diamond sub a 10" or 12"? do you have a sedan or wagon? i've got 2 12" M3s in my wagon now and i think it's a bit much, not to mention i have NO trunk space. looking to get an enclosure to fit above the spare. the sub i'd like to get is a 12" M6 or D6.

Well I have 2 10 inch diamond tdx's and they sound great, and I still have plenty of room, I have them sealed in a fiberglass box.
