Suggestions for door speakers

I have an 05 STi and I am looking to upgrade all 4 speakers. Do any of you have any suggestions for some good sounds speakers? I will eventually put an 8" or 10" sub but I want something that will sounds great without it. Thanks!

I put Infinity Reference components in the front powered with 50 x 4 amp with the OEM head unit in my 04 wrx. Sounds louder for sure and mostly better, but if I did it over again I might spring for something on the higher end. Probably would be better with aftermarket head unit too, but I liked the stealth/anti-theft factor of OEM.

If you're just talking about replacing speakers and not adding new HU and/or amp, it may not matter much from what I hear. Also, with new speakers comes the urge to turn the vol up a bit, and without amp, you'll push distortion through those brand new speakers, which could damage them.

Best bet: save up a bit and go all out.

Here's your ticket. Diamond Audio Hex series. This is one of the lowest profile, hardest hitting component speakers you can get for the space in our doors.

Thanks for all the advice. I didn't think about an amp but it sounds like the way to go. Would you suggest an amp with those diamond audio's?

Diamond x1000
if you go with the Hex series, put more than the minimum RMS into them to make them come alive.
