speaker wire to door?
Hello,
after about 10 hours of installing my new stereo(alpine 9813, CDT Eurosports 620, and a planet audio 2400 amp, waiting on my ed12a sub and avionixx 800.2 amp) i ran into a brick wall.
I cant for the life of me figure out how to run speaker wire to my crossover in the door. The rubber tube from the door to the inside is all curved and tight. Right now ive spliced off the factory wire harness and this is less than ideal.
Anyone that has aftermarket speakers, i would love to hear how you got wire to the door.
also, if anyone has any ideas on where to mount my 19" x 12" amp. right now its in a amp rack/box under my carpet. its not too pretty.
Thanks in advance.

You will have to more less pull the speaker wire through with safety wire or similar. Fish the safety wire through the opening and attach the speaker wire to the end and pull it through the tube. As for mounting the amp, I have mine on a amp rack behind the rear seat. You said you have it under the carpet. That might not be a good idea. Amps tend to get really hot and you might not get enough ventilation to cool the amp. I'd mount it behind your seat or somewhere in the open where you get adequate ventilation.

yah wiring through the looms is really tough.. if vasoline doesnt help they make a special lube for running cat5 in buildings.. but I cant imagine the vasoline wouldnt work.. definitely pop both grommets off. a leader wire is a must..
and another thing, I have the ES 620's in my doors also! congrats on fitting them, its a major undertaking isnt it?

I just recently did this - I found that taking the doors off of the hinges (you will need 2 people to do this) and having someone hold it up higher and out from the car will allow you to run the cables through with a coat hanger fairly quickly. I also used the lube that is used to pull wire through conduit. It can be found in the electrical department at Home Depot.
Just be careful not to set the car door down on its edge unless you lay down a blanket or something to protect the door from scratching.
