That does look pretty sweet, but I really don't see the point of watching movies in your car o___O

Yeah, you can use it for GPS, but still that's kinda waste of space. *shrugs*

in-dash screen

Does any one have any info on the screen mattjk is using? I want to do the install myself but the only sharp lcd screen I have found is around $650.

I finally gathered all my parts and put it together the other week:

1. MattJK 7" In Dash Screen...awesome quality...glass insert...
2. Alpine DVA-7996 in Instrument Bezel.
3. Alpine TMX-R680 Flip Down Monitor with custom fiberglass molding to contour to the roof of the vehicle...
4. Alpine Wireless Headphones ( 2 pair)

Sorry, didn't mean to mislead anyone...

I'm an ET by trade and now a Network Admin....use to do all installs myself but since the kids arrived...and two jobs...I let the professionals do it now...I have a local company here in Hawaii do all my installs...I still spec everything out myself and write explicit instructions on how I want the install done.

These guys are awesome!

I'm working on a computer and touchscreen project for my STi (MP3, DVD, DiVX, AM/FM, and CD). I've been looking at the 7" touchscreens you can get off eBay from Hong Kong. From what I can tell, pop them out of their casing and it's double DIN. I'll be sure to document the install process for those who wish to follow where they ought not to tread.

Go on ebay and do a search for a seller

you win the auction for $350...get the shipping costs and details all worked out...pay for it, ship him your bezel and in about 1 1/2 weeks, you get a nicely, mounted (with glass between you and the screen)...monitor...very nice.

I have had mine for a while now...not a single problem...

Cheesy...yeah right...whatever...
