JL Stealth Box- Any interest?
Hello everyone, my name is Scott and I run a car stereo store that carries JL Audio and I have been talking with them about possibly building a "stealth box" custom subwoofer for the two Impreza body styles. Now for those of you that don't know what a stealth box is just go to their website www.jlaudio.com and check them out. A stealth box is a premade custom enclosure that is molded out of fiberglass and usually fits into an area that most people wouldn't put a subwoofer because it would be too expensive to mold just one box. What JL Audio does, is to do the R&D for us and then make as many boxes as they can. A Stealth Box for our cars would solve alot of peoples "What do I do for a sub?" questions by giving us a custom, predictable and great sounding subwoofer option. I have owned two other cars with stealth boxes installed and loved them both. So as I stated in the top of the thread, JL Audio will be watching this thread to help gauge weather or not to build these boxes. If you have any interest or ideas please post them so that JL Audio will see what business they are missing.
Thanks,
Scott
Thanks,
Scott

I'm definately interested. My friend showed me his maxima stealth box, and i wanted one for my car, only to find out JL didnt make one for subaru's. I guess the most obvious things when designing the box for the common customer like myself is to get the trunk carpet color the same, leave access for the spare, and maximize trunk space since the sedan doesnt get a nice fold down rear seat, and trunk space is needed for those trips to go snowboarding or camping etc. Personally, im looking for an encloser to house a 10in sub so that i can get a nice sound without sacrificing half my trunk or the spare tire like a lot of the nicer setups do. If JL needs a test car, im willing to let them use mine. =P

Please make it so it fits wagons too!
99 L in my case.
Was actually considering getting together the glassing materials this weekend.
Maybe I won't! Always easier to have someone do the work for you!
When I bought this car I was surprised JL didn't make any Subaru boxes- everyone else gets a box!

i would be definately interested. the stock system in my wrx sedan sucks. i am going to change all the factory speakers, add an amp, and sub later. a pre-made stealth box would be dope!
