I need to install a new headunit but i'm new to subarus

What year impreza do you have? Im not sure which models the cup holders started but in the middle underneath ur vents should be a push-to-pop-out cup holder on the right. Pop this out and unscrew and slide it out. From here all u have to do is pop off the plastic that surrounds everything in the center (it comes of fairly easy) and then unscrew the current brackets to the radio. its very simple.

i got the same problem with my 05 wrx. the interior is so smooth i dont see anywhere to start unscrewing or popping off plastic. anyone ripped out the 05 interiors yet? let me know if u can tell me where to start

From the looks of the bezel on the '05s, there need not any unscrewing.

I'm betting that the tab locations would be similar.

Just skip the part on removing the cupholder

ahhh thanks alot fellas ill try it out later on today maybe. if only i didnt have a job lol...i could jus stay home all day and work on my suby.

remove the shift ****, pull the shift trim out of the way,
you'll have better access to get the ashtray out. cig lighter has a wire, you can unplug that also. the center console is all held in by clips. the radio is held in by screws. i think at subaruparts.com check out the install guide for the turbo boost gauge,
