help me pick out an amp
I just picked up a JL 13w7 to put into my car and ive been doing quite a bit of looking around for a good, not too expensive, amp to power it. I would like to get a JL 1000/1 amp, but the price is way out of my range and I dont really want to get a used one.
I came across two Hifonics amps.
Brutus BX2006d
http://www.americanthunderaudio.com/...spx?id=1604330
and
XX-Zeus
http://www.americanthunderaudio.com/...spx?id=1604331
Can someone tell me why the Brutus, which seems to have more features and a higher power output, costs more than the Zeus? Also if these two amps are worth getting? TIA.

You're going to buy one of the better woofers on the market in the W7, then skimp on the amp? Not that Hifonics isn't good stuff, but if you want to power the W7 properly, and cleanly for that matter, you should honestly wait until you can afford one of these amps(in order of preference):
JL Audio 1000/1
Pioneer Premier PRS-D3000SPL
Alpine MRD-M1005
JBL BPx1100.1
Kicker ZX1000.1
Infinity 1211A
Clarion DPX11500
My personal favorite in my installation experience is the Premier PRS-D3000SPL, but I also worked at a Premier dealer, so that may be kind of biased, so I put the JL 1000/1 on the top since it's the amp that is pretty much designed for that sub. The Clarion is honestly a better, cleaner amp than either of the Hifonics, and you can pick one up most places for about $400. If you have to go with one of the Hifonics, the Zeus is more exspensive because it is a cleaner amp, so is therefore in reality, more powerful than the Brutus. But really, like I said, wait until you can afford one of the amps above. Preferably the JL or the Premier, and if you can't wait, spend the $400 on the Clarion, not one of the Hifonics.
