help me Adjust Viper Alarm Sensitivity
I just bought a used wagon, and the alarm is way too sensitive! I have a 2002 wagon.
The black box on the car is driver side window. I dont know what model number it is. Some sources tell me that to adjust it i need to remove the lower dash( i dont know how)..
If someone could give me directions on how to remove the lower dash, or know of a way to adjust the sensitivity of the alarm differently, please help!
this is the picture of my transmitter-key thingy, hope this helps
imbed didnt work

your going to have to look for it with a flashlight if you have not already. in order for the shock sensor to work correctly the unit would need to be screwed or zip tied to something solid. once you find that unit if you dont see the adjuster feel around for it on the box.

So I found this box, 90% sure it is it. Its on the left side of the steering wheel. When I click lock/unlock theres a clicking noise coming from it. Well, I moved the thing in every possible direction, tried multiple times, and my ****ing car alarm still beeps whenever someone walks by within 6 inches of the car.

That would be the really to send signal to lock an unlock your doors... The shock sensor is either a small clear box with a little blue rubber band in it, or it is actually built in to
The brain of the alarm if it's built into the brain there might be a dial on the brain of the alarm, if not you have to adjust it with the remote, the pic of the remote won't load on my phone otherwise I would be able to help you more, the shop I work for sells and installs viper alarms

the remote is 4 buttons, 1 orange panic at the bottom, aux(no clue what it does), unlock, and lock.
This black box did have a dial on the side of it, but I moved it and and forth and all the around testing it, and it didnt fix it..If i trace the cables from this box should i be able to find the sensor?

Vipers. Website has full manuals on line. Just read the model on that black box, head to the site, search for the manuals and it'll give you step by step instructions.
I have a two viper alarms and fairly easy to adjust both, although different. Ones a screen an the other is just a remote with four buttons.

i have read the manual, although im not sure if it was the right one. I assumed mine was the viper 350, since the remotes matched. It said nothing about sensitivity of the sensors =\

Believe the older viper alarms have a shock sensor seperate from the actual unit. Might want to see if you can find that box and should be a dial on there.
Dial on that box you pictured might have to do with something different.

Well, odd turn of events... I traced this wire from that black box that led to where the e-brake is. It seems like this is where the factory security system is. This box was in two pieces (the top with the chip was disconnected from the bottom, which was glued to a black box that said subaru security etc), this clear box says factory on it. Well I screwed some buttons on it, put it back in place, and now my alarm does not have a proximity sensor at all(i can push my car back and forth without a warning beep). I dont know if this was the right box, it seems like this for OEM security. The clear box with the green circuit behind is what I am refering too. This is right next to the e-brake. Is this the right box?

old post. but the clear box is a proximity add on sensor for the viper alarm. the viper 350 you have has the shock sensor built into the brain ( black box in the pic). its the **** on the back
