yeah wrx's have components in the front, install of aftermarket is pretty easy with the right spacers. You can make them yoself or buy from iaperformance.com. Up to 6.5" will fit in the front without any cutting, tweeters can use the existing brackets. Try looking at CarDomain.com if you are buying online and self installing. They will match any price found online and beat it by 5%.
I was in a similar position, but with a slightly larger budget. I am running a aftermarket amp (50Wx4) to all four doors with components up front and coax in the rears. I had limited car audio exp. previous to this project. But then again, I'm not quite done a month and a half later. Are you ever really finished?

cool. im actually going to get some infinity kappas from my buddy. Trying to get them for the rear as well.
While i'm at it, i'll also install some dynamat.. probably just on the doors.
