I've been selling Diamond Audio for years and have never had a problem. I've had to DOA one pair of S600S because some kid swore that his "deck" power would be more than enough. Of couse the extreame clippage tore the poor spkrs apart.
I happen to sell in *nor cal* as well. I work at Magnolia Audio Video. We have been in buisness for 50 years now, and if there was a problem with Diamond, they would have no problems ditching the line. Stop by, even if its just to check out our custom installs, we are doing some insane stuff with my 01 RS.
Good Luck

All of those in my opinion hit harder, i only didnt add cerwin-vega stroker because you said looks good doing it, and it was ugly as hell. JL makes high quality speakers and amplifiers. I believe that Diamond Audio sounds better. I have heard a system with Diamond Audio hex series s600a 6.5" components up front and diamond m6 series speakers all around the rest of the car. In the trunk he had 2 diamond audio tdx's with 2 1200 watt diamond amps...you get the picture. The whole car was diamond, and it sounded like no other car I have been in. Crisp clear highs mids and lows, and then he turned it up. No distortion, nothing, just clear AND LOUD sound. He convinced me that diamond is the way to go. I just dont think JL's products sound as good.

You can post about any kind of consumer electronics, and you are going to have someone say that the product is good and another says it sucks. I listen to this everyday at work. I work for Crutchfield. Best way to go at it is listen to the equiptment first and check the warranty policies of the manufacturer.

finally...some favorable reviews of DAT products. my diamond audio amp & components are still running strong; i'm just as pleased with them today as i was when i first bought the setup almost 2 years ago!

Btw, its not like jl's arent defective either. I have had to send back some of their 6.5 inch coax speakers for being blown, off a 125x2 amp , and I have a friend who has had to send back is 1000/1 2 times because it just quit working, so its not like jl doesnt have its faults either. In my opinion jl relies on its name rather than its performance to sell products. If people went in to listen to jl and compare it they would find there are better products for less, in my opinion the diamond m6 speakers are some of the best around for the money. I also think that diamond subs blow away the jl's, yes, even the w7. The tdx is way crisper, louder, and less power hungry. Diamond audio is one of the best brands out their today, hands down.

After owning my Diamonds for awhile...the only problem I have is the tweeters are very harsh. They are aluminum dome and did not have an option for silk when I purchased them. I will eventually order silk tweets to replace the harsh aluminum domes.
