alarm silent arms when around wireless networks
so last week, i drove to my cousin's house, jumped out of the car, and pressed the lock button on my transmitter. the lights blinked, but no noise/beep. i found this really wierd. when i went home, i pressed the lock button and i got the lights to flash and it made the noise/beep. so i just thought, ah, whatever, must be nothing.
today, i drive to school, park the car, and jump out. when i press the lock button, the lights blink but no noise/beep again.
this really puzzled me. i thought to myself, what do my cousin's house and my school have in common. and the only thing i could come up with is that they both have wireless networks set up. so i'm pretty sure that's what it is. to double check, i'm going to stop by my cousin's house after school and see if the same thing happens again.
anybody else ever have this happen?

Car Info: 2016 Acura RDX ... meh. Um, nice subwoofer?
When I close my left eye and stand on my right leg and pretend to be a wireless network, my car whistles dixie. But when I have both eyes open and stand on my left leg and think about hard-wired networks, it beeps Mexican hat dance song.
All that for only $20/gram!

How do you know your alarm doesn't work?
Have you taken apart your console at all lately?

i took off the lower dash last week to look for the keyless entry programming button, apparently the previous owner of my car hid it among the jumbled up wiring...but after i found it and was all done, the alarm chirp worked...today was the first time i drove the car after i took out the dash panel...
i don't understand why it worked after last week after i took out the dash, and now it doesn't....it's being difficult...
could a blown fuse cause my siren to not function?
i know the alarm doesn't work because i armed it, then unlocked and opened my door with the key without disarming the alarm...the corner lights and the indicator light started flashing, but no sound, so i know it has something to do with the siren...i just don't know what though...
i'm really getting frustrated...
oh yeah, btw, the horn works, just not the alarm siren...

Some alarms have a fuse in-line with the siren wire. (usually red or brown) just trace the wire and see if there is a fuse on it. If not, you may have gotten some moisture inside your siren or it might just be broken. First I would make sure its dry .. if it is then I would do someting to trigger your alarm and use a voltage meeter to see if its geting power .. if you dont have a meeter just take the siren off and toutch it to your battery. if it still doesn't work you have a bad siren. if you are not showing power to your siren or the siren works when you toutch it to your battery. Its the alarm or there actually is a fuse or the wire is cut shorted? You will just have to take everything apart and check.
