How do I make Sweet Tea?
#3
Bring water to a boil. Add tea bags and take off the heat. Steaping time is essential, usually five to seven minutes. Add sugar, a little more than you think for true southern sweet tea. Pour over a pitcher of ice. A little time in the fridge to "set" helps too. Best enjoyed being sipped in the drivers seat of a Subaru in full sideways drift. (do not try this at home!!!)

Well first. you need to remember
it's like Coffee. Not all Tea is the same and there are numerous ways to make it. Experiment with brands and brewing times until you find your taste.
Second beyond boiling there is Sun tea. Which is my favorite.
I think it has the best flavor. Use purified water for either as flavor is better.
For Sun tea get a gallon clear glass jar container with air tight lid.
Fill with water. Put 10 large tea bags in. Pour 4-6 cups of sugar. Close and sit in direct sunlight. Time depends on sunlight and temp. Normally about an hour should do it. Finished color (and this goes for boiling method as well) should be a nice golden brown. It should not be dark. If its dark is been overbrewed and even if doluted will taste bitter.
To serve pour over ice.

OK I am from MontG alabama and here is the way mom made this southern style "jolt"
1) Old school plastic pitcher 2 qt capacity I think
2) Tie together about 4 or 5 regular sized tea bags Lipton tea
Throw them in the bottom
3) Throw in about 2 cups of sugar into pitcher (or more after experimenting)
4) Boil about 1 quart of water or run about 3/4 coffee pot through your coffee maker
5) Pour in boiling water to pitcher with tea bags and sugar, gently stir just to mix the sugar careful not to damage tea bags
6) place on the top and allow to sit for 10 min (secret "steeping")
7) Gently strain tea bags by pressing a large spoon to squeeze the concentrate and remove.
8) Fill with cold water to within 1.5" from top and stir and serve
Big glass of ice cold sweet tea with a bunch of lemon is the S^*% for hangovers
Now bring on the fried chicken and biscuits - yee hah
