Someone told me I better bring a japanese friend to go one of these places (don't know if is the one you mentioned) because I wouldn't know what to order (menu is all japanese?) Anyway, thanks john, franco, seri, kevin, and soggy noodle (it would help if you tell me where that place is)for showing me a couple of places... I will be there like around 9pm... hopefully they are all open...
on weekdays, they have a 'family set' so it keeps the dinner down to under $20. maybe $25 if you go all out.

they all have menus in english, but it just might be harder to communicate with them. i've seen plenty of non-japanese people eat there. they're all open late so don't worry about the closing time.

I believe so. Corokke is usually made with mashed potato, but they sometimes substitute squash or sweet potato. If its Kabocha corokke, then that is what it is.

there's a japanese place on the corner of sunflower and bristol. northeast corner. I forgot what it's called, but I sometimes go there for lunch. Otherwise, pork curry at mitsua.

hmm.. Isn't pumpkin a type of squash? But anyways, satsumaimo corokke sounds pretty damn good.
