It's a nice place. I think it's fun if you bring lots of people with you.

In terms of it being romantic, it doesn't have to be. As long as you feel comfortable thats what counts. Sure it's going to be loud and difficult to have an intimate conversation, but thats what the deserts after are for. Which one are you going to?

Torrance or Pasadena?

This could be a good thing.. With first dates, it's cool and all to be romantic, but i personally think that first dates shouldn't have all that pressure of the 1 on 1 type deal. For me, I like to save the romantic stuff for when I have something to be romantic about. Like a gf, wife, anniversary.. Stuff that you celebrate by using "romance" as a magnifying glass, so to speak..

For first dates, I typically would pick someplace where you don't really have to get dressed up too much, and you get to sorta let loose and just not have to stand on ceremony for. Take D&B for instance.. PERFECT place for a first date IMO (well, depends on the girl i suppose, but thats up to you to find out). D&B offers an enviorment where; you can relax, have fun, grab a bite, have drinks and theres plenty of people around.

Yeah yeah I know, many say "Oh, but a quiet candle lit dinner focuses on just you and her".. Dude, for me, you're not going out yet, or married or just official. You're just getting to know each other (plus this is a good way to see how she reacts to this sort of date.. Sorta filters out all the gold diggers from the fun types).

I dunno, that's just my two cents.. D&B is just an example of the type of place.. So this beef place doesn't sound too bad (as franco pointed out, doesn't HAVE TO be romantic, just FUN). Oh ya, one more thing,.. try not to sit directly across from her. Sit next to her. What i mean is, if you were to draw a line you would make a 90 degree angle.. I found that this helps a lot cause you both do not the pressure of having to look directly at each other.. after a while, it gets uncomfortable. If you sit the way i mentioned, it gives you to space to breath, and it gives you guys the "Choice" of looking at each other whenever you feel comfortable...

Ok that is all.. sorry, i'm eating lunch at my desk and I had this yearning to write.. I'm so off tangent, lol...

Anyway, good luck Louis!! Kudos to you wooOT! you get a banana

Oh one more thing., If you REALLY want to know what type of person she is.. Pick her up on your first date in a beater car.. see if she calls you back, or agrees to a second date.. If she does, then pick her up in your car, and when she asks. Just say it was in the shop.. Well, that is of course, she doesn't already know what car you drive.. :P

Well since I know its in Beverly Hills, don't let the night end just at the restaurant. Take her to the grove after and grab a snack or a drink, walk around and talk some more. It doesn't have to be arm and arm, just keep it fun. Try to talk about things you feel the both of you would like.

Jerry is right, friends. Get to know the girl first, then you'll know if she is worth it.
