In my tranny I just switched from Torco to Mobile 1. I noticed a huge difference, shifts were smoother and when I punched it, I felt a more consistent acceleration. I still crunch when shifting into 4th, but I think that's a synchro problem :-(

I still have oem stuff in my rear dif. I actually went to change it out, but when I looked at that square head bolt I said "wtf." So far, I haven't found a socket or anything to get that thing off... When I figure out how to get those bolts off, I'm going to put Mobile 1 in there.

i wouldn't use redline. it works well, but when it is time to change them again, they get stuck to your gears

I went to car quest and asked if they had anything like that and the guy suggested using a socket wrench with no socket on it, but I didn't have one that would fit in the hole :-( Where would I purchase one of these.... '1/2 inches' :-P and no ***** size jokes either!

I use Mobil clean 7000 5W30 and Mobil 1 for my gear oil. Mobil guarantees the oil lasting for 7000 miles. Thinking of switching to Full synthetic soon for the engine. Maybe after one more change. Just want something that is readily available off the shelf. Motul sounds really good, but it costs more and it is not too readily available. I use Purolator Pure-juan for my filter since the Subaru ones are too exp...
