Timmons Subaru: WORST EXPERIENCE EVER (owners beware)
I recently took my car in for some headgasket replacement paid for by subaru. I also got a new radiator, waterpump, timing belt, oil pan. So i got it back on friday and i started to check out the car and i found these things
- vaccum hoses on intake manifold were still disconnected.
- caps on the air conditioning lines were not put on.
i could fix those myself so i just didnt bother with messing with them because i wanted to go home. there was a little vibration but i thought it was an unbalanced tire or something.
the next day i was driving around and my car is vibrating a little. It felt like an unbalanced tire but it wasnt that bad. Later down the freeway it got really shakey and violent so I pulled over and guess what i saw,
ALL OF MY REAR WHEEL STUDS ON THE RIGHT AND LEFT ARE SNAPPED EXCEPT 2, 1 ON EACH SIDE.
It seems like someone messed with my rear tires and forgot to tighten them down so they got wobbley and broke all my wheel studs. THe service department is closed on the weekends so i had to drop of my car at timmons again using AAA and I had to wait until monday.
i agree that they had no reason to mess with the tires, but the fact is that they were messed with. and even if they say they didnt.. they drove my car 17 miles and that would be enough to notice the vibration in the car because it was already there when i got the car back.
I talked to the service manager, Pete. Basically he did not want to hear anything I said because he says they never touched the back tires and he was like "go ahead and call your lawyer". Then i called the actual owner of timmons subaru, Gary Timmons. He was nice at first and seemed like he would help but once he talked to Pete he changed his whole attitude. He said he talked to the person who worked on my car and that he is a "master technician" and that he said he noticed no vibration of the car even though i noticed it right when i got in. So he is also saying he will not take responsibility and he ended our conversation with "you know we have lawyers too". I warn anyone in the south bay NOT to take their car to Timmons subaru EVER. I will be contacting the BBB and also getting consultation from a lawyer.
Any help or suggestions on what else i should do will be very appreciated.
This is the first and last time I ever take my car to a dealership.

I could have told you. Never ever take your car to any subaru dealer. No matter how good their reputation is. Dealer always ***** you over at the end.

Actually, this was my first dealer experience :X. I only took it because the headgaskets were semi underwarranty. Never again!
