couple of hours ? a day ? a few days ?
can you sit and wait or do you have to leave the car ?

Solar Gard Titaniums or Quantums are the way to go. I also hear good things about 3M films. The best films are pricey. You can get a great set of Titaniums (4 windows + rear windshield) for around $140 with lifetime warranty. The job should take around 2 hours like awd said.
