in spirit of halloween...
post your haunted houses stories/experiences!
off turnbull canyon, there's a small road named oak canyon rd. the story is there was a mansion owned by an elderly couple. because the house was so secluded one night the house caught on fire, and burned down with both of them inside. the house was never rebuilt, what was left torn down, and all that remained was the concrete foundation slab that the house used to rest on. there was a very long hill that led up to the house, and since then the entrance gate has been shut and you're unable to get in. word spread that the area was haunted, it sparked peoples' curiousity -- stories were told that you can still see a house still resting on that very foundation, complete with a little old lady sweeping the porch.
so in high school a group of friends and i tried to go up, but we turned back because a cop was on his loudspeaker telling us to get out. we did run into a toolshed of some sort. nevertheless we were freaked the entire way up! just getting to that toolshed took about 30 minutes, since the entire hill was blocked with trees. it's at the end of the cul-de-sac on oak canyon rd. for those adventurous ones. the gate is now covered with vines and unrecognizable; what was once the road leading up is now just a forest of trees and brush. still creepy.
