speeding ticket
56 in a 40. at night, NOT on radar. it was a motorcycle cop and i was paced. i didn't notice him at all, he suddenly popped up behind me and pulled me over. riverside county.anybody think i have a good chance on fighting this (since i was paced)?

since there wasnt a radar you can argue that in court... but because you were "paced" you really have to argue that the speedometer is incorrect in order to win.
if you have a good record then screw it, pay the bill go to traffic school and dont speed for another 18 months

there's no harm in fighting it... the worst that can happen is you're stuck w/ the same ticket. i hear they sometimes reduce the fine just for going? if you have time/energy/motivation, go contest it.

go fight it in court..
make sure u reschedule.. for a difference date than one they assign u... so if the police doesn't show up for court date... u win..
that's how most of my friends get off with it..

is it too late to request for the ticket to be transferred to another court (since it was issued in riverside county?) i think it is..? the entire ticketing process took like 5 minutes. he didn't give me any chance to talk to him, just took my license then came back with a ticket. i don't even remember the last time i got a ticket; wasn't sure what to say or ask...i was reluctant to argue with him b/c i didn't want to get hassled about my car. :P thanks for the replies
