Some one stole my ish
So I get down here from the Bay sunday of last week...
Wednesday my car gets stolen, yup you heard me stolen...
yesterday I get it back minus
Interior, bumbers, intake, lights, trunk, hood, and quarter panels, and IC. oh yeah and wheels
I hate so-cal
But I need advice thinking about buying it from salvage and puting it back to gether could some one give me a guess as to what all of the above would cost to do. No apposed to using none factory parts. And hey if they want to do the work drop me info via PM.
PS they left- motor, turbo, trans, rest of car modded suspension, brakes, battery basicaly all of the running gear minus the IC

Argh.. I'm sorry to hear this. I was ironically up in the bay area this past weekend. I hope this doesn't discourage you from making it out to some of the SoCal events.. we may have some bad people in the whole region of SoCal, but the club members, for the most part, are pretty cool.

I'll try and make it out...if i can put this thing back together if not I'll sell it.
The problem is insurance wont pay for the mods that were in it, so the lesson learned is to buy a car that doesnt need mods...
problem is that looks more and more like and M3 or and Evo since it seems Socal Dealers wont sell STI's for under 35g's

Go to Utah. MSRP there!
There are weekly Wednesday night SCIC bonfires in Laguna if you're bored tomorrow night. More here: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=403666

Sorry to hear that man. It's not that bad in so. cali. I wish I had time to help you out. One thought is to bid on some stuff on e bay. How come your insurance won't pay for your mods? What did you have on your car? They have to atleast pay for the stock price for those items. Good Luck man.

Maybe someone can shed light on this but I heard from someone I think it was on another forum somewhere that the insurance company totaled some guys car and he bought it back and parted it out to make some extra cash? Wonder how much he paid to buy it back from them. Maybe it's worth it to you to find out.

checked in to that because I thought about building the thing in to a club racer with what left because hey who needs and interior to race tight?
But ts gona be 20% of the total value of the car to buy it back so 3500- 4500 cash to buy it back, and then god knows how much for: hood, quarter, panels, trunk, brake lights, and wheels.
Then I can start buildng the thing back.

sorry to hear about the loss.
Don't hate so-cal, man. There is some nice things about here too.
bay area is as bad as So-cal when it comes to theft imho.
I hope you'll come back stronger.
If you are lucky, maybe you can put aftermarket body pieces and stuff from the insurance money. Some insurance company don't care if it's aftermarket or not, when you replace the stolen parts.
I think, it's better not to total the car since there is no damage to it. Seems like it's just parts.
if it costs more than 33% of the value of the car, insurance will total it, though.
Get the estimates from repair shops and show them to the insurance company. If you want to total the car, get high estimates. If you want not to total, try to make it under 33% if you can.
If they total your car, you can buy it back from insurance company. You need to negotiate the price with them.
then you can sell the parts and make some profit out of it.
good luck
PS. I bought my car back from insurance company (totaled in an accident) for $300. Bluebook of my car was $4000
