powder coating your wrx stock rims - group buy
Dear all:
Let me know if any of you are interested in powder coating your rims to gold.
I have contacted a local service provider (ABACUS, around el monte area) to give me a deal if i can get 10 cars or more to do it.
cost will be ~$200 each set.
please reply if you are interested.
tks,
Peter

hi,
I think we need to get enough people for each desired color/paint in order to get a good deal (from each color/paint).
So we can all get good deal (ie share the shop's set-up cost for each color/paint)
Therefore, Let me start with the following:
Gold - 1(chenreaction)
Gun Metal - 1 (capt'n caveman)
Anybody else?
ps. somebody just backed into my wrx about an hour ago while I was visiting my client. ^#&$*#&$(#@&*)@!!!

heres an idea...
go to kragen buy yourself some dupli-color high performance wheel coating, and paint your own rims. my brother did it with his car and he bought 2 cans. i then did it with mine and it only took 1 can. i did four coats each rim. let them dry 15 minutes between coats. they came out perfect. if your worried about over spray onto your tires you can take 3x5inch index cars and stick them in between your lip of your rim and your tire. my rims came out perfect and i get compliments all the time. i painted them in july and i havent had one chip on them yet.
ohh yeah dont forget to clean your rims with some simple green and really scrub them. some people say sand them down first but i didnt(call me lazy). make sure your rims are dry before you begin to paint. and bammmm i just saved you 190 bucks
<)><
if i knew how to post a pik id post some of my rims.
