how much is fios, and would it even matter when we play? i mean, IW has to have servers practically in the next room in order for us to get the bad *** pings.. Which is why I asked if there was a way to turbo charge your connection.. I mean, I guess FIOS would be good for just your typical crap like youtube, downloads etc.. But unless it can substantially help my pings while gaming.. I dont' really see the sense in spending the money on it.

well, if verizon can claim a 15mbit up/down with fios , then im sure they've beefed up their backbone for the new bandwidth... that and the quality of signal should be much better.
it's not so much the IW servers being next to us cause room hosting is p2p based. Maybe we should have pablo host all of our games and see if it runs any smoother for everybody else.

They do not run fiber optics to each house. They run fiber optics to the serctors, then copper wire to the houses. One day houses will have fiber optics running straight to them.

I'll see if I can find a picture.

i believe fios goes to the house though where as uverse (att) is to there node or sector that then splits to each house. jon can correct me if i'm wrong, since he does this everyday .

not sure how they check with cable but for t-1s they only check UP to the node, not the modem or anything.

careful when you get FiOs though
