Yuck.. Built in soundcard. You might as well buy emachines.
What I did when i bought components for my comp was to go to dell websites, falcon nw, etc, researched components and built my own. So instead of letting go of $6k of my cash to have somebody build my system, i only had to let go of $3k of cash and get something with the same components..

unfortunately these days a dell only cost $700-800 for similar setup
only difference is if you build your own system you can get better ram. (Dell usually use DDR2-800 / your own setup can use DDR2-1066)
Better motherboard. (mainly for overclocking reasons)
and yeah you pick the brands of components that you trust instead of who knows what's in a dell.

actually the newer MB that has the sound card built has been pretty good lately, I don't think you can hear the difference from a normal sound blaster card vs a realtek on board sound.

i have evga, it's a good mobo for oc'ing. a lot of people flash xfx bios on thiers.
