Dromo One will be hosting the US Indoor Karting Champions Challenge February 11th, 2006 at 8:00AM
The top US karting team in the nation has put together a nationwide tour welcoming all challengers to a 90 minute endurance race at various indoor centers across the country. They are set to show their skills at Dromo One on the morning of February 11th 2006. If you would like a chance to see how you stack up, Dromo is now taking sign ups! Cost is $195 per team of 3 drivers.

well, we entered the race. our team was myself, seany-poo and igor-poo.
randomly picked 7th (out of 8) to start on the grid.
it's 8am, all the other teams have their own racing suits and gear and i'm wearing a torn up, blue dromo 1 suit, size L. there were two teams of 2 people, the rest were 3 person teams including the US natl karting team champs. basically whoever completes the most laps win the race. long story short, i start 7th, i suck at driving, end up pitting in 6th place.
sean makes up some ground and gets us back into 5th position. (sean holds the fastest lap time currently at dromo 1 this year with a 23.2 with #19.) so then we try and figure out when to bring sean in to pit so igor could get kart #19 (one of the fastest karts there). instead he ends up with kart #5 (one of the worst there...seriously...) with the track super sticky with 150 laps completed all the teams were easily in the mid to low 23's. the best laptime igor could extract from #5 was 23.5 whereas the faster karts were hitting 23.1. we end up finishing 6th overall. we had over 220 laps completed but 1st place was something like +3L at that point.
1st and 3rd place were the two-man teams. 2nd place were the US indoor karting champs.
good fun, learned a lot of what i need to improve (basically everything.) if anybody is interested in doing this month's enduro (feb 28, tues) let me know
