East oakland aint ghetto. Its only ghetto near that recycling center in west oakland when all the crakheads exchange their cans in the morning.

Venice beach aint the best place either. I almost got mugged on speedway in venice one night. Damn crackheads.

i took many classes in south gate cuz elac had an extension over there. had to drive my beat up maxima LOL

no way imma park my sti in that neighborhood and leave it unattended for more than 2 minutes.

 

My modded WRX is driven and parked all over Richmond and the East Bay Area (richmond is the highest auto theft city in Cali)

I don't worry about that kind of stuff so much. That's what auto insurance is for.

Anyways, I posted this thread to get to know and hopefully meet some people in the area I'm moving to. I don't claim to know anything about different cities in the LA area (I don't live there yet). I do know a whole lot about the bay area though. I've lived here most of my life and I've lived in 6 different cities here also.

 

Maybe I was in the nice part of east Oakland then. Or I'm just used to being in the ghetto where I'm the only white person.

Venice has some ghetto areas as well. It's funny how there are million dollar homes in Venice, then less than a minute away, there are crack houses and drive-bys.

You were probably in the downtown business area of oakland, the rest of the very long city is super ghetto. I lived there for over a year while I was in school, and I'm not joking when I say I heard guns shots close by (a block or few) nearly everynight as I laid in bed.

If you went to the actual ghetto in oakland you would've been the only white person. It's pretty much split down the middle black and latin. There is also a rich area in the Hills of oakland and towards berkeley. Million dollar homes and lots of whiteys.

I've been around Venice, and sorry but I hardly consider it ghetto. I know there is some hardcore cities close by though.

considering I live like a 1.5 mi from Venice, and I got to the beach there every other day. Yeah. I would have to say I know a little about Venice.

and I haven't driven every road in California... just all the paved ones and some of the not so paved ones
