your in oakland california right?,my question is how are you going to register it? its out of state so it requires smog, and its packed with illegal mods.
its a stunner though,i think theres a build up of that one on iwsti?

yeah, that's the car that i bought, the one that was on iwsti. that's actually where the pictures 2 posts up came from. it was a photo shoot that the old owner (username stipolice on iwsti) had done at the new orleans warf. that same car is sitting in my garrage right now!
the things that are in front of the sideskirts are called jdm euro guards, as far as where to get them, i have no idea. the car was allready built up when i bought it.
I also have no idea how i'm going to get the car registered. im pretty sure im ****ed. there is no way i am going to take the headers, downpipe, and turbo back exhaust off. i dont even have any of the stock parts even if i wanted to. does anyone have any advice? my plan was to just go down to the sleziest shadiest smog shop in east oakland with a pocket full of cash and hopefully get lucky.

honestly yu dont want to chance a fail in the system,i would go to LIC ,pay them to swap the parts, put a add here on i-club to borrow the stock bits in trade for lunch or somthing, then have the car smogged at the shop attached
to them.
once the car is in the system, you wont have to smog it again untill 2011 unless you get a modified emissions ticket
i think its worth the hassle for that beast
to them.

you can technically pass the sniff test with just the cats on the stock downpipe on. also, switch back to the stock map with ur accessport (itll let you switch back to the protune map)
for the visual test though i don't know what to tell you
i wouldn't chance it but if you must then id just take electrical tape and tape over the white letters on the turbo inlet put the stock cover back where your boost control solenoid is (if its not on there already). switch your downpipe back to stock
and hope for the best with the headers?
when i got smogged the guy didn't look under there. but yeah
clean fn car by the way!:RockOn - not mine:

thanks for the advice! . . . and all the compliments! that's probibly what i am going to end up doing, just switch the exaust or down pipe out and then switch it back. i have time though. i registered my car today and they gave me a 4 for the window, so that means i have at least untill the end of april to figure out what i am going to do about the whole smog thing.
im starting to get use to the car and i love it. the baby will not lose traction. i give the tien ss coilovers, the cusco swaybars, and the kartboy endlinks an A+. i've driven a stock sti before, and there is no comparason between the two. in addition to amazing handels, there's plenty of power, and the turbo spools up with a quickness. i think im in love!

hahah congrats man.
yeah search on nasioc or here on how to swap out the downpipes.
it's not a hard job.
i just thought about this, im not completely sure but i think the undertray might cover most of not some of the headers.
but since ur cars lowered i doubt he'll be able to get a good look under there anyways.
good luck with the smog.
EDIT: and another thing. since its awd they can only sniff test it hehehe

OMG!!! That car is ridiculously good lookin!! sweet deal!!!! I'm sort of half surprised about the previous owner... i figured cops were the ones that always loved doin hot pursuits on these babies but i guess they cant handle driving crown vics all day but MAN!!! this guy def. did a great job. nice car man!
