Any oil consumption? I've been driving 2,000 miles on mobil 1 5w-30 and checked my oil level today. It was only halfway between empty and full. I'm wondering if the thin oil is to blame in the sac heat. Should I put in a thicker oil?

Some amount of oil consumption will occur regardless of what blend you use; very little of what's lost is the result of piston blow-by. Besides, if you lose less than a quart between oil changes, you're not saving any money if a thicker oil solvers the problem, since you didn't need to top off before changing it out anyway.

Not to contradict you public, Ban, but I believe some Scoobies suffer from poor design/poor fit of the pistons.
Not that my car is defective, just that the tolerances/specifications allow oil consumption.
May SOJ engineers allow it to remedy something that was discovered during testing.
Who knows.
From day one, my STi consumes 1.5 quarts between oil changes.
RC51's does about the same, if not more.
My old Saab, with a cracked piston, used less oil.
And I drove that POS much harder than the STi.
On the other hand, neither of my '96 Legacies drank so much as a drop of oil.
