I work for the company that leases the buildings to Wyotech in West Sac - they have an impressive setup. Even if if you do not end up going there, I would recommend setting up an appointment for a consultation/tour of their place and see if their program will give you what you want.
This is just a fraction of the space they lease from us:

My friend is currently attending Wyotech right now. He's about half way through his nine month program. I'll let him use my user name on here a little later when I see him to have him share his thoughts for you....

I have a friend in his first year there. He says it's pretty rigorous. They also want you groomed well, also. Made him get a shorter haircut. Or maybe he was just looking like slob. You also need to buy your own tools. But, they seem very serious about cars there, so that's a good thing, plus they're very willing to help you find a job. Tuition is quite steep, but at least you get good discounts on all Snap-On tools.

first off any student in a automotive program gets a ******-on discount, and i honestly think u r throwing ur money away on schools like that. i know what a lot of u will say but the community colleges have excellet programs that are realitivly cheap and u get the same if not better training because its smaller classes, plus u get a degree. i know this is a subaru site but as a ford ASSET grad. u should check out the factory programs, i.e. ford or toyota, as a factory tech u get paid more money and get to specialize in one make, which makes repairs faster which means more money. but u have to invest pretty much ur whole 2.5 years to the programs , but they are definalty worth looking at. just my 2 cents

Wyotech
Yea, so like, I'm thinking about going to a trade school. While doin' some research, I saw a school named Wyotech up in Sac. Thought I'd ask ya'll if you have any knowledge of this school? It's automotive technology, fabrication and high performance engine classes. Any thoughts?

I went to a automotive trade school... and got left with a 15k loan...LOL.
In hind sight i would of been better off finding a GOOD,..and i stress GOOD ( i don't mean a muffler shop/or a shop without a dyno-smog machine), shop to work @...and learn on hand...and then going to some secondary school after work to brush up on the SMOG/AC/Troubleshooting aspects of the job, gettin ASEs and all that stuff as u go along.
As i stand, i have been workin around cars 10 years now, and i never regret gettin into this line of work....But unlike most people...i went for the high end car lines/smog repairs right off the bat..that way i earn what i need.
Whatever it is, make sure u are @ the top of your game/class.
My 2 cents...
Good luck
