Sorry, I didn't read the whole depressing thread. I have done some research to see what is going on and unfortunately it is the WRX and STI that are painfully high on the claims resulting in the crazy rates. As a comparison:
My '05 STI - $998 / 6 months
My '91 Carrera 4 cabriolet - $346 / 6 months.
Go figure!

Right now I pay 215 a month on my 06 WRX (this is with 1,000 deduct.) through progressive. I just did the quote through esurance and they quoted my at 155 a month or 916 every 6 months. I think I might be switching!

Do any of you dudes know how esurance is with claims? I'm finding a lot of stuff that indicates they're ok as long as you don't forget to pay them (or have a SNAFU that causes you missed payments) or ever have to file a claim..

I did have a problem after I signed up with them, they tried to raise my premium due to a "lapse in coverage" which didn't exist. I called them up and had it corrected within a few minutes.
