Don't get the pillow top. Seriously. Don't get it. My parents bought it later thinking they wanted it to be more comfortable. They got it and ended up taking it off. I agreed with them. It felt better without it.

So we finally made it to Sleep Train yesterday. Trying to decide if we want to warranty our current bed and upgrade it to a King for about $1000 out of pocket, or if we want to warranty our current bed with a straight-across swap for a Queen and put it in the guest room, then buy a bed from European Sleep Design.

We noticed two things yesterday.

1. Simmons has a premium, luxury line of mattresses. They're about $1000 more than the European Sleep Design beds, but made with many of the same components. Similar coil systems, latex foam and wool wrapping, etc. They lack the wood slats, however.

2. We liked the Simmons Beauty Rest Classic. To get the Cal-King, we'll have to pay about $1,000 extra over the warranty credit we'll get for our current bed. It's crazy how expensive decent mattresses are, but dangit, after sleeping on a typical spring mattress that is one big wired-together unit, and this and the European Sleep Design mattresses, with individual coils and all this other technology, I'm spoiled. This bed, while comfortable, still just isn't as good as the ESD bed.

Damn you, ryball. Damn you to hell.

You are welcome. Just get the ESD already. Why in hell would you pay $1000... and no slats...

What did the wife think?
