Less tasty? I guess that’s a matter of opinion and what you put into the dishes. Best Pho place in Sacto that I know is Pho Bac Hoa Viet - The one off Bradshaw right next to RPM. Can't speak for others.
Other great and lesser known oriental food places are:
1)Harry's Cafe off 16th Street
2)Nathan's of Elk Grove
3)Shoki Ramen House off 24th
Harry is a good guy and his ingredients are super fresh. We used to cater with him at the last restaurant I worked at. He's pretty respected in the restaurant community and serves great Vietnamese/Chinese. Nathan is a relative (the son I think?) of the old head chef of the Mayflower and serves top-notch Chinese in Elk Grove. His fried salt Tofu is great. Shoki Ramen house has some of the greatest broths I've had in sometime. But be prepared to wait because it's the size of a shoebox. You have to put your name on a wait list outside. I suggest eating there at an odd hour to get a quick seat. Like 3pm maybe.

So from what I see so far its...
1. Nerd
2. Tofuman
3. iLoqin (me)
4. Vietpunk916
And I'll throw some odd hour... 2pm.
And its on you guys if you wanted to meet up somewhere and drive there together. Or we can meet up there at like 3pm.
Someone else can think of which place we're actually going to eat at.

hells yes im down! No working on weekends ftw. Anywhos, Hoa Viet is the most known place i've ate at so far. Its right on stockton blvd and fulton, right behind the old florin mall. A couple streets down will be pho xe lua which is the picture of the pho i took above. 3pm sounds great.

RE: Tofu, 2pm when we first meet up, or 2pm at the restaurant?
RE: Vietpunk916, Barns and Nobles off of Laguna?
RE: Whoever is going, Pick any pho spot and make it our destination so no confusion happens =p
I'd like to get this as an official Pho thread, or food thread. We'll make sure to take pictures of what we ordered, post 'em up, so people can get an idea of how the food is at certain restaurants!
