Mobil 1 5-30 synthetic.

This STi of mine has quite the appetite for oil; about 1.5 - 2 quarts between oil changes.

I dont see how 1.5 - 2 quarts between changes could be good

I have 37k+ on my can and dont lose any oil between changes

of course I have the dealer change it and they dont use synthetic

That's because Paul beat on his car like a rented mule from the moment he left the lot. nothing to do with what oil he uses.

Are you constantly checking it?

Subaru says <1qt per 1000 miles of consumption is acceptible (not really on new cars, but on their slightly older ones).

LIES AND PROPAGANDA!!

I strictly followed the Subaru-approved procedure regarding new engine break-in; keep rpm below 4K, unless it's an emergency.

So, I had a couple of "emergencies" I needed to gas my way out of.

I beat on my car during the break in time and still dont lose that much oil.

I check it about every 2 - 3 fill-ups and always before I take it in for service. Now that I have so many miles on the car I must say I dont check it as often
