I think i really want to go for a new STI though.

I have a very clean 06 STI with 31,000 miles that I'm willing to sell if you want an older one.

Yeah i know, i loved my 05 and still think its the best looking year (IMO). But i do LOVE the interior on the new 2011s. I love that the back seats can fold down, the controls on the steering wheel, the leather and alcantra, the heated seats, etc etc. The exterior really isnt that bad to me either. I didnt like them at first but after seeing one in person, i realized pictures just dont convey it the same way. I good set of 18x8.5 or 9 inch rims with the WRX wing and some tint will really set off the 2011 sedan. Again dont really mind about aftermarket parts because im not looking to modify my 2011. Im looking more for a reliable car that i can count on for the next 3 to 5 years, maybe more.

Go with the 2011. If your gonna get something nd make an investment, make it on something you want. The 2011 STi sedan is amazing nd its stepped up from previous years, and if you do get one, get SWP or a dark gray. Sexy.

Thanks, constructive and non-biased opinion haha.

I am looking at either Storm White Pearl (wish it was still AW) or Spark Silver Metallic (dont quote me on those names). I am basically looking for a color that will hide scratches, will not swirl (or at least wont show them). I have had two a 03 PSM WRX, 05 OBP STI, and a 07 Black Lotus Exige S. I always missed my silver bug eye. So easy to clean, never showed a scratch, and best of all didnt show swirls!!!!

So i think DGM is out of the question, even though it is sexy as hell, its just too close to black. So its down to storm white or spark silver.

Thoughts on the color?

So i contacted quite a few dealers and im debating if i want to order my STI. They say it can take anywhere between 4 to 8 weeks to receive the car. As of right now, that means i wouldnt get my STI until sometime next year :-(

Although i think i can get a pretty damn good deal if i ordered it. I had a couple great offers on STIs that dealers have in stock but i feel if im buying this car to grow with me i should buy it with everything i want on it. There are a bunch of options that are small and cheap but id love to have come with my car.

So what do you guys think, should i just buy a STI a dealer has and then maybe see if i can add those options later or should i just order the car directly from SOA and get exactly what i want?

Will

In the grand scheme of things - waiting 2 months to get exactly what you want is no big deal..

Plus you wont be buying a car that has been test driven to death.. - Or - In the Maita example from a few weeks back - have some asian woman climbing all over the interior from the back seat to the front seat and back again.

In fact - when I order a car.. I pretty much demand that I be there when they pull it off the truck as I don't want it "test driven" by some snotfaced - near minimum wage "tech".

Yeah there was a guy that just bought a 2011 STI that requested no one drive it.

I found out i can buy every part from Subaru Genuine Parts and almost all the parts are less then invoice. This means that its actually probably cheaper to buy a stock STI and then buy the parts from SGPs.

I think im going to try and find a dealership that has a STI inbound and tell them not to touch it and let me come look at it and buy it. That way its the same as ordering it without the wait.
