seriously? you wouldn't address handling? eventually I will have to get new tires obviously, but if I don't get struts then I will be stuck with the WRX handling the way it does forever...

yeah, maybe the split spokes... or the struts... no, the wheels... but, maybe the struts...

Well a good set of tires do make a difference. After I got my P1's with Falken St-115 (thanks sperry) I did notice an improvement in handling and I still have stock suspension on the G-ride.

Wheels and tires are just as important to improving handling as struts and springs. If I recall, aren’t the RE950s all season tires? What size? If you upgrade the tires and wheels, the wider footprint, stiffer side-walls, and better tire compounds should improve your handling by increasing traction and temperature endurance, and improving steering response.

However, the struts and springs will probably make the biggest difference in daily driving feel. That is, if you don't intend to do a lot of aggressive driving it probably makes sense to get the struts and springs first. If you're already pushing the car at it's limits, you might be happier with the wheels and tires. Just my 2 cents.

I just thought it might look kinda silly with wheels at stock strut height. The pictures of cars with new wheels look goofy with all that fender gap...

I don't know. I'm back to the center. I can't decide.

The thing is... I know that if I get the struts, then later I will eventually have to get new tires anyway...

Well you do have a point there. But a dropped car with stock tires looks funny. Ask russia. Either way you're going to have to do both to not look funny.
