Did he specifically say what part of ADA you were supposedly violating? Or is he just trying to scare you into a settlement?

For a while, and I think this was in NorCal, there was some lawyer who just went around finding ADA violations and suing anyone and everyone he could. Basically anyone can sue for these and get paid. It's ****ing retarded.

Yeah, that guy is the reason I hate the ADA so much. He's totally abusing it and everybody's afraid to do anything about it for fear of being labeled discriminatory. He's not even handicapped, his daughter is... but you'll spot him parking in HC spots even when he's not with her. *******.

The ADA is bad but the CA ADA is the worst

California has taken the lead in the proliferation of disability filing mills, and no wonder, since its state law offers the Number One encouragement for complaint filing—lots of crisp greenbacks. Unlike the federal ADA, California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act offers the aggrieved not just attorneys’ fees but—until recently, when the amount increased—“at least” $1,000 in cash payouts. Incredibly, it lets plaintiffs claim the payouts without needing to allege the slightest psychic or physical trauma, or even inconvenience.

if he fell and got hurt or something it would be somewhat understandable but suing just because he noticed that something is not up to standards (which they change every year) is bs.

you can get a big ticket for that. trust me I know from experience. you can also be charged with a misdemeanor and be sent to jail.
