STAY AWAY from Del Paso Heights!
Rule of thumb: Never live in a city that's been in a rap song.

Hey. Sorry it took me so long to reply - I haven't had internet access all day
Honestly, man, finding a place for ~$700 a month is gonna be a stretch. You could certainly pull that off with a roomate. Some nice places to check out:
Stay away from any of the apartments on San Juan because they're ULTRA ghetto. Stay out of D.P Heights, stay off of Northgate. Maybe there are some rooms for rent nearby you could try out?
Here is the link to forrent where you can do a zip code search. Use 95833.

- Harbor Oaks - On Gateway Oaks (between W. El Camino and Garden Hwy) - just up from Baja Fresh and right off I-5.
- Miramonte -On Truxel just past Raleys (the meet spot)
- Trovas -Basically the same place as Miramonte (and in the same spot) - different color buildings though. We almost moved in here before we bought our house)
- Tamaron Ranch - Seems decent. We almost moved in here, but didn't because they don't have in unit washer/dryers. This place is on W. El Camino right over I-5 from Baja Fresh.

Thanks for the advice, Matt. I'm trying to weigh my options right now. It all boils down to whether or not I'm deploying in a month.
And I don't want to have to deal with roommates, although it'd save me a bunch of money in the past. I've had a string of horrible roommates, And the only person that I'd really want to share a place with, I already do, but he's going to Korea. And I'd especially not want to move in with someone I don't know.
