Rainy Sat Morning.
Yeah, so I'm driving home from my girlfriend's house early Sat morning around 3am, and begin noticing that it's raining west bound on I50. Ok. Fine. Now this would be my first real experience driving my car around in the rain as I got it in the end of March of this year.
Moral of the story:
Stock RE 92s are scary.
Before anyone jumps to a conclusion, my car is fine. Its in my garage right now, wet and about as jittery as I am about the experience. Now, some of you may be more experienced in the matter, but I am only nineteen and up until now have never owned a vehicle that I was all that excited about, so much as to say, my driving skills are nill. Anyhow, when I reach the 50/99 junction which, for those not familiar, is a long sweeping 'S' curve, I found myself upon a nice thick pieceof wood just chiilin in the middle of the road. Before I even know what I am doing, or even think what it could mean, I steer clear of the wood and throw my car into an all wheel slide. Now I have to say that it was one of the coolest, most adrenaline invoking things that I have ever done, but soon found that my tires were now victim to their own lack of traction. I ended up correcting twice, with very little skill, and dove foward into the dirt runoff under the overpass.
All in all, I would say that it was a good experience. My car didn't get hurt, and only my pride did, and I now know some notion about the limit of my car. Now I can't wait for the snow!

dude I know what you mean... I was sitting outside Tek-Fuzion (in Rancho) talking with some people and someone says that they just felt rain... no way, so we're looking and we see a couple scattered drops here and there, nothing really. I go inside and use the rest room, come out and look outside and it is pouring rain..... lasts about 10 - 15 minutes or so, then disappears.... crazy CA weather....

Naturally you would want to give it some gas but when the guard rail is only a couple of feet away and you have some stock tires on your car, chances are your going to hit that rail. I personally had this experience with a side of the mountain. I was taking this turn pretty fast and before I know it there was this rock in the middle of the road. Tried to avoid it but I was going too fast and there was some loose gravel on the road. I have battle scars on my car now from the outcome of the rock and me.
I have heard many stories on i-club about people driving too fast in the rain and end up totaled or having a near death experience. So please drive safely in the rain.
