question about installing exhaust...

so i bought a custom magnaflow catback that this guy had on his 06 wrx. and so i came to install it and i realized that the flange on my downpipe has that neck thing on it and the flange on his exhaust is flat. do the 06's not have that neck thing? i was thinkin bout goin to a muffler place tomorrow and get the flange off my stock exhaust welded on this new one. but i wanted to keep my stock exhaust. are there any other options for me? anyone have a stock 02-05 midpipe they want to get rid of or if i go to an exhaust shop do you think they might have a flange that would fit? i kidna dont know what i should do. let me know what you guys think.

you could always get a dp that will mate up with it, that way you get some performance out of your money.

Assuming you have the stocker on still...
