so we're having the entire local family over tomorrow. between my side and teh wife's side, that's 22 people total. we've got: 35 pounds of turkey, 20 pounds of ham, 4 pies, mashed potatos, scalloped potatos, green bean caserole, sweet potatos, and some other crap.
we're getting everything ready today except for the meats so we can actually hang out with our families tomorrow. it's going surprisingly well so far.

I'm posting from Edgewood, NM tonight (just east of Albuquerque). My wife is playing 'Risk' with her family, and I'm le bored. They got 8" of snow out here last Tuesday, and the roads at night are a tad treacherous in my mother-in-laws' 5yr-old Toyota Avalon. I'm trying to convince her that she needs to trade that thing in on a new Outback sedan.
Just a few miles down the road from the in-laws house is old Route 66. At the intersection of Mountain Valley Rd (to their house) and 66 is a long-defunct gas station with a few old dead cars laying around, covered in a blanket of fresh snow. The newest car in the "collection" is a '53 Chevy sedan, and some even went back as far as a couple of Ford Model A's!
If not tomorrow, on Tuesday I'll cruise in the Avalon between Edgewood and Albuquerque on Route 66, and snap some pics with my wife's digital camera for you guys to enjoy. In the mean time, I'm going to put on a thermal undershirt to help take out the trash. Last time I looked, the thermometer outside read 20F-degrees!
That might not be cold to the folks in Reno, but I was born-and-bred in SoCal, and that's pretty damn cold in my book!
